| The Cyclades The Cyclades are one of the most beautiful island clusters in Greece. The colours, the typical blue and white contrasts, abundant nature and crystal clear waters make each island an attractive holiday destination. The intriguing Greek mythology and the traditional fresh foods will have you begging for more. Among others, the following renowned Cycladic islands can easily be reached by boat: Naxos is the largest island of the Cyclades and has a particularly pleasant flair. The beaches are long and beautiful. Mykonos is the jet set island of Greece with a unique Greek old town style - unfortunately it is very crowded and quite expensive. Paros with its 190 sq. km coastline is smaller than the other islands. Its old town style and flair are to be compared with Myconos, however Paros is comparatively cheaper and has a more affluent landscape. Only 1.5 km from Paros lies the neighbouring island of Antiparos. With only 600 inhabitants it is quiet, but here you find the most idyllic and isolated beaches. Santorini is probably the most well known island of the Cyclades. The 300 m high “Caldera” and bizarre bodies of a former gigantic volcano rise up perpendicularly from the blue sea. Ios is the Ibiza of the Cyclades. Whoever is looking for crazy nightlife will find it here. The Cyclades have a Mediterranean climate; the summers are hot and dry and the winters mild. |
