| Excursions The neighbouring islands of Naxos and Antiparos allow for daily boat trips across the spectacular Aegean waters, and can be best reached by boat taxis “Kaiki ".If you are interested in culture and history, Paros has a lot to offer as well. The archaeological museum exhibits unique artefacts which shows the history and richness of Greek culture. Likewise the Ancient Cemetery, dating back to 700 BC can be admired or the "Church of the Hundred Gates", one of the most impressive places of worship in the Cyclades and one of the most important churches in Greece. The butterfly valley - a green oasis teeming with butterflies throughout the season – and the Marble galleries are well worth seeing. We also recommend a visit to one of the charming traditional villages such as Marpissa where the monastery "Moni Agiou Panagia” is situated, or Lefkes, which lies in the mountains in the islands centre. From here you have an overwhelming view of the valley. The cathedral "Agias Trias" and the monastery “Longovardas”, “Agio Ioannis Kaparos” and “Christian Dassous” are also definitely worth a visit. |
